(Samajweekly) One of the first things viewers noticed about Deewane Hain is the sheer number of familiar faces packed into the song.
With Welcome To The Jungle, director Ahmed Khan and producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah have assembled one of the largest casts seen in a Hindi film in recent years, and Deewane Hain puts that scale on full display.
The song brings together the film’s ensemble in what plays out like one giant celebration. Most film songs are built around one or two lead actors. Deewane Hain goes the other way. The spotlight keeps moving from one performer to another, giving audiences a glimpse of the film’s biggest selling point — its mammoth of a cast.
For fans of the Welcome franchise, the song also carries a strong sense of nostalgia. Several actors associated with popular comedy entertainers over the years share screen space here, creating moments that are designed as much for the audience as they are for the film.
The scale extends behind the scenes too. Composed, written and sung by Anand Raj Anand alongside Amruta Fadnavis, the track has been produced by Vikram Nagi and arranged by Prakash Peters. The song features flute by Naveen Kumar, live rhythm arrangements by Dipesh Varma and a large group of backing vocalists, all contributing to its festive mood.
But beyond the music, Deewane Hain works as a roll call of the film’s star cast. Every few seconds, another familiar face appears on screen. In a film packed with actors, comedians and crowd favourites, the song’s biggest achievement is that it finds room for almost everyone.
