(Samaj Weekly)
My name is Earth,
And ever since your birth, I have given you a home
A place where you will be safe from danger,
I have blessed you with life even though you are a stranger.
But you endlessly torment me by cutting down my trees,
You throw perilous plastic into my seas,
After everything I have done, don’t I deserve a little bit of fun?
Not only that, but you pollute my air,
This isn’t right, this isn’t fair,
I am getting hotter and my ice will be no more,
Listen to me now, listen to my roar.
You kill my animals for clothes and money,
Soon all will be extinct,
I am falling apart, why can’t you see?
This is the effect you have on me.
Every waking hour of every single day,
I want you to think and I want you to say,
Do I need that light on, can I turn off that tap?
It will make a difference, trust me on that.
There’s this amazing machine that helps me work,
It removes Co2 and gives oxygen, that’s a big perk!
They’re beautiful to see and they dance wonderfully,
Yes you’re right, this machine is a tree!
When will you understand, YOU need to help,
It isn’t right, it isn’t fair
When will you care, when will you stop wanting more?
Listen to me now, listen to my roar.
