(Samaj Weekly)- Today L.R Balley – Founder Trustee of Ambedkar Bhawan Trust Jallandhar, All India Samata Sainik Dal Punjab and close associate of Babasaheb Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar passed away at age of 94 in Jallandhar Punjab. He was true fighter and published many books on Ambedkarite movement. LR Balley was one of the doyens of Ambedkarites missionary Journalism in India. On 6th December 1956 – the day of Parinirvaan of Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar he resigned his permanent Govt job in Delhi and dedicated his life to Ambedkar Mission.
In 1958 he started ‘Bheem Patrika’ in Urdu first to take Ambedkar’s message far and wide. His contribution in establishing Samata Sainik Dal and RPI in Punjab is praiseworthy. He along with others campaigned for Babasahebs’ writings and finally GoM published 21 volumes. He was part of Scheduled Caste Federation (SCF) last meeting (Sept 1956) at Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar residence in Delhi.
