TN leaders greet Ramakrishnan for Sahitya Akademi Award

Chennai,   Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Wednesday congratulated writer S. Ramakrishan for being chosen for the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for 2018.

In a statement issued here, Palaniswami said he would like to convey his heartfelt greetings and wishes to Ramakrishnan for being chosen for the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel “Sanjaaram”.

The novel is about the lives of Nagaswarm players in Tamil Nadu’s arid lands.

Palaniswami said Ramakrishnan is one of the notable writers and has written several short stories, novels, essays, children’s books and screenplay and dialogues for movies.

Ramakrishnan writes in simple style so that even a lay man could understand, he said.

DMK President M.K. Stalin also greeted Ramakrishnan in a statement.

Stalin said it is a great honour for Tamil language and the Tamil literary world.
