Minor girl gang raped in Bihar’s Darbhanga

Patna, (Samajweekly) A 15-year-old minor girl was raped by two youths in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred at a village under Bahera police station in the district on Sunday night.

The accused gagged her by putting a cloth in her mouth and sexually assaulted her until she became unconscious.

The victim is undergoing treatment in Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and her condition is stable. Police conducted the medical examination of the victim which confirms gang rape.

As per the written complaint lodged in Bahera police station, the victim went to the nearby farm land to relieve herself where two accused, Shivam Kumar Singh and Manish Kumar Singh, overpowered her and took her to a deserted place after gagging her.

After the sexual assault, they had threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone. By that time, she became unconscious. The accused, after committing the crime, dumped near her house and fled.

The victim’s parents, who were searching for her, found near the house in an unconscious stage and immediately called police emergency number 112.

“We have registered an FIR under POCSO Act and raids are on to nab the accused,”  Bahera police station SHO B.K. Brajesh said.
