(Samaj Weekly)- One of the top Asian football teams in Leicestershire FC KHALSA GADG is holding their celebrations and presentations in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib at Guru Amar Das Gurdwara, Clarendon Park, Leicester, LE2 3AN from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm.
The celebrations on Sunday 10th December will begin at 8.30 am with hot refreshments such as Samosas, Pakaurray, spring rolls, Indian sweets and Tea. Sri Sukhmani Sahib Ji Pathh written by the fifth Nanak, Guru Arjan Dev Ji starting at 9.30am. Reciting the Gurbani of Sri Sukhmani Sahib Ji is believed to bring peace to one’s mind and aid help remembering God constantly. The benefits of reciting Sri Sukhmani Sahib are that we breathe 24000 times in a day, so if we do one pathh of Sri Sukhmani sahib in a day – it has the power to take care of your halat as well as your palat. ie Here this world and beyond mortal death.
Gurdwara Sahib Giani Ji Kirtan Jatha will do shabad Kirtan for an hour or so after the reciting of Sri Sukhmani sahib Ji Pathh is competed about 11.00 am.
Prayers will be said for world peace and chardi Kla of everyone. Tributes will be said to the club’s long time youth football coach Jagir Singh who passed away few years ago. He was also a regular volunteer at this Gurdwara Sahib. The FC Khalsa Under 13s team once dedicated their winning trophy at the Birmingham tournament to Jagir Singh Ji who was fondly called ‘Uncle Ji’ by many. Among many others attending the celebrations will be Asian Football Legend Shingara Singh ‘Shanny’ whom Premier League team Nottingham Forst wanted to sign when he was 12 years old.
FC Khalsa GADG play in the Leicestershire Senior League and their home ground is at Judge meadow Community College where they recently beat Barrow 8-4 when Devonte Khan had a very good game and Balveer Singh Heer scored a hat-trick. In the summer football tournaments organised by Khalsa Football Federation FC Khalsa were always chosen as one of the four teams from KFF to participate in a weekend tournament at Scotland’s Glasgow Rangers’ Ibrox Ground. which included four other Asian teams from around the country. Three years running FC Khalsa reached the final and won this prestigious competition in 2013.
Due to the ever-increasing cost of using the facilities at Judge meadow Community College the club is always on the look out for sponsors and are always grateful for each one of their supporters.
