Makhu, (Samajweekly) (Harjinder Singh Chandi) – The Punjab government has promoted Jail Superintendent Kulwant Singh Sidhu P.P.S. to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in recognition of his distinguished services. It is worth mentioning here that Sardar Kulwant Singh Sidhu is a native of village Peer Mohammad near Makhu and is the talented son of farmer leader Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Peer Mohammad and younger brother of senior Akali leader Sardar Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad. Sardar Kulwant Singh Sidhu is considered a tough officer for criminals who are fully committed to their duty. Welcoming his appointment, Bhartiya Kisan Union Punjab President Furman Singh Sandhu said that it is a matter of great pride for our Makhu area that the grandson of our farmer leader Bapu Gurcharan Singh is also a judge. He congratulated Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Peer Mohammad and Sardar Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad. Sardar Furman Singh Sandhu also thanked Jail Minister Lal Jeet Singh Bhullar, Madam Bhawna Garg IAS and ADGP District Sardar Arunpal Singh (IPS).
