Harsh Vardhan cycles to WHO SEARO meet

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan cycles to the venue of the 72nd session of World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for South-East Asia (SEARO) in New Delhi on Sep 3, 2019.

New Delhi,  Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan arrived to attend the 72nd session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) meet on Tuesday riding a bicycle.

The Minister left his residence around 6 a.m. and was at the venue, Hyatt Hotel, in 30 minutes.

Inaugurating the week-long event on Monday, Harsh Vardhan had told the gathering: “Universal health for all, a disease-free India and global standards of excellence in healthcare, is our aim for a new India.”

Among those participating in the meet are eight Health Ministers from 11 countries of the WHO South-East Asian Region (SEAR), Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan and WHO South-East Asia Regional Director Poonam Khetrapal Singh.

This is the second time India is hosting the WHO Regional Committee meeting.
