GNG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2025
GNG Football tournament for Girls and Boys took place at Riverside Football Grounds, Braunstone Lane East, Leicester on Sunday 3 August 2025 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.
Girls matches took place at 9.30 am in which teams from Coventry, Coalville and Epworth came to Leicester to participate in the competition. Boys’ matches were played in the afternoon from 1.30 pm in which Boys teams Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 15 took part. Presentation ceremony took place at 3.00 pm.
Kulwinder Singh Johal thanked the player’s parents for making the tournament a success and said there is very likely to be a charity match for a past player who heled organise the football tournaments for many years. Among the guests presenting trophies were Councillor for Oadby Santokh Singh Atwal, Kohinoor Manager Shangara Singh, President of Guru Teg Bahadur Gurdwara Gurnam Singh Rai and others.
There was a bouncy castle for the children to enjoy. Refreshments and Guru Ka Langar was provided. Although there were no other clubs’ boys’ teams for GNG teams to play against, overall the tournament was a success as it had great family atmosphere with so many of the players’ parents, brothers and sisters and grandparents came to enjoy tournament.
The tournament management thanked Leicester City Council, all the Gurdwaras, volunteers, supporters and members of the community for their support.
