Q2 Can you give some more details about the results?
A. We played total of 25 games, won 24, drawn one game against FC Khalsa Leicester. No team scored more than one goal against our team, and we scored 77 goals. In 18 of the 25 games, we played other team playing against us did not score a goal.
Q3. Can you tell me more about number of teams in Under 13s, how long matches are played for and how many players per team play in the KFF tournaments.
A. There were 8 teams in the Under 13s split into two groups of 4. There are 7 players each side and the matches are played for 30 minutes, 15 minutes each half. If the game is a draw after 30 minutes, extra time is not played, and the game is decided by penalties.
Q4. Who scored the most goals and which player was the overall best player of the tournaments?
A. It is too hard to pick one overall best player as they are all very talented boys. Three players Jai Singh Dosanjh, Keertan Singh Rai, Juvraj Singh Lehal played in all 5 tournaments. Top scorer was Keertan Singh Rai.
Q5 At the beginning of the tournaments did anyone in your club believe that you could win all the tournaments.
A. Yes as we have a very talented group of lads. We the managers knew we would be very close to winning all 5 tournaments. As the tournaments progressed, the players also started to believe they could achieve this great feat as well.
Q6 What are the reasons for the team’s great achievements.
A. Very talented, gifted group of players who listen to the managers instructions and put them to practice on the pitch.
Q7 Which teams played good against your team and gave you the hardest game.
A. All the teams we played gave us a challenge, so picking one team would be unfair.
Q8 What was the age range of the team?
A. Players ranged from 11 years to 13 years. In each tournament we had an even balance of 11/12 years old players and some 13 years old in the squad. However, in 3 of the tournaments the squad was mainly players who were playing a year up.
Q9 Which tournament was the most memorable and why?
A. Winning each tournament was exciting for players, managers and our supporters. Without a shadow of doubt Derby tournament was the most memorable and enjoyable as it was our home tournament and winning it made it 5/5. It was extra special.
Q10 Looking forward to next year’s tournaments, do you think Punjab United Derby will win all 5 tournaments again.
A. Next year we will try our best to win each tournament at Under 13s and Under 15s as this year’s squad will be split across both age groups. Some players who played for Under 13s this year will play for the Under 15s team in 2024.
Q11. Would you like to say anything else?
A. The other manager Mandash Singh and myself would sincerely like to thank all the players’ parents, relatives and supporters for all their help without which winning all the KFF tournaments would have been very difficult.
