New Delhi, The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) launched a blistering attack on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday, citing a news report by ‘Organiser’, the RSS mouthpiece, which claimed that a Kerala church was illegally selling acres of encroached coastline or government land to Christian families.
VHP spokesperson Vindo Bansal tweeted: “Nothing can be more dangerous than it…Making a mockery of law, the Latin Church sold Kerala public-revenue land worth crores of rupees to 192 christian families, 167 houses completed but @vijayanpinarayi Govt had surrendered???”
Bansal also tagged Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, urging him to act in the matter.
In another tweet, the VHP functionary said: “Is #Kerala govt, which can’t protect public property from illegal encroachments, entitled to continue its business?? Are they allowed because the beneficiaries are Christians? Why the 99-year lease to churches still continued even after expiry??”
Kerala has been a hot bed where the RSS and the BJP have found themselves at loggerheads with CPM cadres, often resulting in political murders from either sides.
