New Delhi, Day after BJP leader Uma Bhartis cryptic tweet raised question on whether she took a dig at PM Modi or genuinely praised him, she clarified her stand in a series of tweets.
She said, “The whole world now knows that since 2014 there has been no leader who can match Modi’s stature in India. Modi’s unilateral wave will continue in the Lok Sabha elections despite loss in some of the state Assembly elections.”
She added that the Delhi Assembly election results do not necessarily reflect Modi’s popularity.
She claimed that the entire Congress vote has gone to the Aam Aadmi Party.
The clarification from Bharti came after she, in a series of cryptic tweets (in Hindi), said: “The message from the Delhi election results is that the results of the various legislative assembly elections of several states held in last one and a half years, then the Lok Sabha elections and now recently held some state Assembly elections clearly show that there is no leader of the stature of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in BJP as well as in India.”
The series of tweets would have been taken as a praise but since it came in the aftermath of the Delhi debacle where the BJP was contained to the just eight seats, many perceived it as an apparent dig on PM Modi.
