Samaj Weekly- To a standing ovation, Omran Sharaf, the mission’s director, declared, “To the people of the UAE and Arab and Islamic nations, we announce the success of the UAE reaching MARS.” The UAE` Hope mission is the first of three missions to arrive at the Red Planet this month
The UAE`s spacecraft “Hope Probe” is expected to collect more than one terabyte of new data on Mars, which will be shared with more than 200 academic and scientific institutions around the world for free.
The Hope Mars Mission is considered as the biggest strategic and scientific national initiatives announced by UAE`s President His Highness Shiekh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2014. It is a moment of satisfaction & happiness for the UAE scientists in particular.
Amal`s arrival puts the UAE in a league of just five space agencies in history that have pulled off a functioning Mars mission. The UAE is looking for Amal to ignite the imagination of the country`s scientists and its youth and help prepare for a future.
