(Samaj Weekly)- The Tamil Buddhists of Indonesia invited Mr.Gauthama Prabhu Nagappan of the Triratna Buddhist Community to pay a visit to Vihara Mahamangala located in Polonia, Medan, Northern Sumatra, Indonesia on the Saturday of 19th November 2023. The Vihara was established and run under the leadership of Mr.Rawi Sangker, Mrs.Uma Mahesg, Mr.Rajan, Mr.Wimala Kirti, Mr.Rawindren, Mr.Paneer Selwen, Mrs.Sri Jayanti, Mr.Sanjef Kumar, Mr.Mogen, Dharmachari Karuna(Kaliappan), Dharmacharini Aliambal, and Mrs.Winja Kumari. I was honoured to introduce the Triratna Buddhist Community with the talk on Why I am a Buddhist which was a speech given by Bhante Urgyen Sangharakshita in India. The talk followed with full pali puja and the recitations of Prajnaparamita sutta.
The members requested for a audio version of the chanting which they would like to practice. They also requested for a proper Buddhist training. We express our special thanks to Mr.Vasudevan and Mr.Bhaskaran for introducing me and also coordinate the whole program.
