Soldier, woman injured in firing on army ambulance in Pulwama

Srinagar, (Samajweekly) A soldier and a woman were injured on Thursday when militants fired at an army ambulance in J&K’s Pulwama district, an army official said.

Defence Ministry spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said: “An ambulance with QRT (Quick Response Team) was fired upon by terrorists from near a mosque at Laddoo morh in Lethpora area of Awantipora at 6 p.m.

“One soldier was injured. He was evacuated to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar. One civilian lady sustained injuries in the cross fire. She is stable.

“Area has been surrounded.”

IGP, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar told reporters that the woman was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and was soon discharged.
