SEVA Trust launches new initiative in India to support students from low-income families

SEVA Trust UK (India)(Samajweekly) launched a new initiative of ‘Healthy Children & Healthy Communities’ to support ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which is Government of India’s initiative to celebrate & commemorate 75 years of Independence and history of it’s people, culture & achievements.
This new project was launched this week with a session on Health & Careers Advice held at Modern Education Senior  Secondary School, Adhoya (Distt Ambala), Haryana, India attended by 430 rural children from over 10 villages. SEVA Trust Team lead by Naresh Mittal – Chairman of SEVA Trust UK (India) operations disturbed healthy food and other daily use essentials to all children present and provided career advice.
Charan Sekhon, Chairman of Bedford based charity SEVA Trust UK said ‘Throughout 2021-22, our SEVA Trust UK (India) Teams have put in place structured program to reach-out over 10,000 students from disadvantaged and low income families in northern Indian states of Punjab & Haryana. In the next 12 months and they will support at least 10, 000 students by providing them free healthy food, educational advice & support. Our India based teams are already working on a wide range educational and social welfare projects and we will continue to offer the needed support. I would like to thank Dabur India Ltd for their support for this health food project’ said Charan.
