Rs 3 crore cash seized in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, The police in Hyderabad seized Rs 3 crore cash from a car on Thursday during an intensified checking ahead of the April 11 parliamentary elections.

Wads of currency notes were seized from the vehicle on Road Number 10 in Banjara Hills area. The police shifted the seized cash and two persons who were carrying the money to the police station.

The police were questioning three persons including a jeweller with regard to the seized cash.

Elections to 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana are scheduled on April 11 and as part of the efforts to ensure free and fair poll, the police have intensified checking of vehicles at various points.

The police have so far seized over Rs 18 crore cash across the state.
