(Samajweekly) AI” Artificial intelligence” is nothing but intelligence exhibited by machines/computers, as opposed to natural intelligence showed by humans as IQ “intelligence quotient” combined with EQ “emotional quotient” and SQ “spiritual quotient”.
A computer or machine with intellectual ability has the range and adaptability similar to human brains in solving a wide range of issues. Several competing methodologies exist regarding how to achieve artificial general intelligence.AI, often known as machine intelligence, is an area of computer science that aimed at developing and management of new technologies and business which can learn to make decisions and carry out activities independently on behalf of a humans.
AI is presently being used in a variety of applications, both in the laboratory and in economic/consumer contexts. AI is already a part of the host of different ecosystems such as hospitals, factories and scientific laboratories etc., but the most striking use of AI is in the business arena; from our super-fast food delivery apps to our responsive cab drivers, most of these latest services are integrated with AI. But, the notion of AI in educational institutions is often overlooked. It is usually thought of replacing teachers and appointing some “boring robots”. But what exactly needs to be made is a system, where teachers and online bots can coexist, and create learning personalized for each student. Personalised learning refers to giving each student, a unique experience of learning, which supposedly begins with their doubts and queries being resolved, and then focusing on improving their academic performance. On further ramification, the purpose of student is s very basic and straightforward: get a degree or credential certificate demonstrating their expertise. AI can assist students in accomplishing this goal by expediting the educational process. AI can have a huge influence on students’ educational journeys by offering access to the relevant courses, enhancing contact with teachers, and freeing up more time to focus on other areas of life.
AI has already been used in education, especially in skill development tools and testing applications. As AI educational solutions improve, it is envisaged that AI will effectively bridge gaps in learning and teaching, allowing students and teachers to do more than before. AI can increase effectiveness, personalization, and streamlining of administrative processes, giving teachers more time and opportunity to give understanding and adaptability—uniquely human characteristics that computers would struggle with. By combining the finest qualities of machines and teachers, the vision for AI in education is one in which they collaborate to get the best results for children. Because today’s students will need to work in a world where AI is a reality, it is critical that our educational institutions expose students to and use the technology.
Most of the teachers and staff aren’t ashamed to say they deal with time management in tough manner, which makes sense given the quantity of items on their daily to-do agendas. Professors desire to spend more time teaching students one-on-one, conducting research, and furthering their own education, but they don’t have the time. By automating chores, evaluating student performance, and eliminating the educational gap, AI can help free up educators’ time. AI is supplemental and complementary to educators and should be deployed today as it is emerging as need of hour. We have already started using multiple apps based on AI in field of entertainment viz OTT platforms and apps (facebook, twitter, youtube etc…) so switching from entertainment to education will definitely be interesting and encouraging. Keeping in view the radical shift in the career industry with high skills of Artificial Intelligence as 4th Industrial revolution, the educated youth need to be motivated to believe in ‘work works’ as the two-word success story relevant in all times to come.
AI can substantially enhance workplace efficiencies and complement the work that any human brain can accomplish in all walks of life by taking over monotonous or risky activities, freeing up the human workforce to do work that requires creativity and empathy, among other things. AI is critical to our future study since it is the cornerstone of computer learning. AI is increasingly responsible for everything from medical achievements in cancer research to cutting-edge climate change research as a current needo-research as a solution to numerous societal issues.
For achieving efficiency, sufficiency and equity in higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), we need to become simply SMART ( Simple/Basic, Morality oriented, Action/Execution sensitive, response oriented, and transparent enough). Honest efforts have to be made for becoming unique by giving and taking quality education and transforming the students into human capital needed in the economy today. We have to be alert, aware and awake (AAA) with rationality in using AI asneedo-use and avoid its misuses leading to cybercrimes as white-collar crimes beyond comprehension sadly increasing day by day.
