Pakistan resorts to firing and shelling at LoC

Jammu, (Samajweekly) Pakistan again resorted to unprovoked firing and intense mortar shelling at the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday in J&K’s Poonch district.

Colonel Devender Anand, defence ministry spokesman said that around 6.30 p.m., Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in Mankote sector of Poonch district.

“Indian army retaliates befittingly,” the spokesman said.

So far this year, Pakistan has violated ceasefire at the LoC in J&K over 2720 times in which 24 civilians have been killed and over 100 have been injured.
