Srinagar, (Samajweekly) Pakistan on Monday resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in the Mendhar sector in Poonch using small arms and mortars, officials said.

The Army said that it is giving a befitting response to the Pakistani aggression. Earlier in the day, Pakistan had resorted to ceasefire violation along the LoC in the Mankote sector.

There has been a spurt in ceasefire violations along the LoC in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir and to the South of Pir Panchal in Rajouri and Poonch.

In the past, Pakistan gave cover fire to the infiltrators by resorting to unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC.
