Srinagar, Both Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday reacted supportively to Governor Satya Pal Malik’s statement that he did not look up to Delhi while deciding to dissolve the state Assembly.
Former chief minister Omar Abdullah said on his twitter: “My compliments to Governor Malik for not looking to Delhi & for not taking their instructions thereby stopping the installation of a government of the BJP & its proxies formed by horse trading, defections & use of money”.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said it was a welcome departure from the past as the Governor did not take dictation from Delhi and decided on his own to dissolve the Assembly.
“Leaving aside the fax machine fiasco, good to see that governor Sb (sic) refused to take dictation from Delhi , rather opted for dissolution of assembly. This could be unprecedented, given the story of democracy in the state “, Mufti said on twitter.
Governor Malik while speaking at a function in Gwalior on November 24 had said that had he looked upon Delhi, then he would have had to install Sajad Lone as the chief minister.
The Governor also said nobody, including Sajjad Lone and Mehbooba Mufti, had approached him with numbers to stake their claim to form government.
