Lucknow, Shivpal Singh Yadav, the estranged uncle of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, on Tuesday closed all doors of rapprochement with the Samajwadi Party (SP) and told his supporters at an event here that he will “not look back now”.
Having formed the Samajwadi Secular Front a few days back, the former state Minister said he has taken the step after a long wait and due thought and will now take like-minded people with secular outlook along, including regional parties, to form a formidable political force to contest all the 80 state Lok Sabha seats in 2019.
Addressing a convention of Shri Krishna Vahini, which was being viewed in political circles as his first show of strength, the younger brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav also dropped ample hints that his parting ways with his nephew and present SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is complete and irreversible.
Amid slogans of “Chacha tum sangharsh karo, hum tumhare sath hain (uncle, you continue the struggle, we are with you)”, Yadav said he is happy that hundreds and thousands of people were joining him across the state.
He was heaped wholesome praise by the speakers who vowed to make him the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister in 2022.
