New Year’s festivities are about introspection, correction, and positivity

(Samajweekly) The year 2024, having followed its own course, is preparing to take its leave, while the sun of the new year 2025 is set to greet us with its golden rays. Various scales exist globally for marking the start and conclusion of the year.
Celebrating the New Year holds immense importance as it symbolizes the readiness to progress while embracing the happiness and joy that every aspect of nature imparts to humanity. Human selfishness is dominating nature alongside other humans. In our society, human interference with nature is exceeding all boundaries. Interfering with nature has become a trivial concern for humanity. Perhaps that is the reason human interference with nature has led to significant challenges for humanity.
Human interference with nature has put innocent animals and birds—as well as people—in danger of contracting deadly illnesses. In the New Year, we should all carefully consider interfering with nature. It is critical that we all include resolutions to prevent others from messing with nature, as well as to refrain from meddling with nature ourselves, in our New Year’s resolutions.
The 2025 calendars will replace those of 2024. Across the globe, people are bidding farewell to the past in their unique ways while welcoming the future. People share New Year’s greetings with friends, family, and loved ones in many ways, but the celebrations extend beyond simply exchanging wishes or changing calendars. New Year calls for fresh resolutions. New year’s celebrations call for a look back at past behaviour. The importance of New Year’s celebrations lies in their commitment to fostering more prosocial behaviour in the coming year. New Year celebrations are about reflecting on the past, fixing mistakes, and encouraging positive actions.
Those who embrace their mistakes are sure to soar to incredible heights in the future. As a student, you have the wonderful opportunity to reflect on the progress made over the past year. A heartfelt review will highlight your accomplishments and areas for growth. It’s essential to concentrate on the remaining weaknesses and embrace the journey toward improvement. Consider reflecting on whether you established any goals for your success in the past year! Did you reach the target you set for yourself? In that case, you must prepare to work hard to maintain and improve it. If we fall short, we can pinpoint and eradicate the root causes of our failure.
Also, the menace of drugs is becoming a serious issue in our society. Drugs are attracting a large number of young boys and girls. The claims and promises of the governments regarding the prevention of drugs have become a means of getting votes. Trying to bring the young boys and girls who have taken the path of drugs onto the right path should be the first priority in the new year.
Unemployment in our country is driving the youth toward negative paths. The government’s poor planning is worsening unemployment. Plans to eliminate unemployment are crucial this year to help youth escape drugs and other dangers. We all, including governments, must prioritize sensitivity to human rights now. Child labour and costly higher education are consistently preventing children in ordinary households from accessing education. Higher education, including medicine, is now restricted to a select few families.
In addition to being obedient to parents and teachers in the new year, one should work to improve relationships with classmates and society. In addition to this, you will be required to make a formal commitment to working truly for the improvement of society. During the new year, it is important to prioritize the goals of helping others, being timely, and developing positive habits. These are all important aspects of resolutions. I hope that every one of you has a prosperous future and that the year 2025 brings you many positive returns.
