Tehran, Iran’s top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that Iran takes pride in helping the Syrian government and people.
According to Iran’s official IRNA news agency, Khamenei made the remarks during his meeting with visiting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, reported Xinhua.
During the meeting, Khamenei said the key to Syria’s success and defeat of the US and its regional agents is perseverance of the country’s President and people.
He also cautioned against the enemies’ future conspiracies, according to IRNA.
Calling for further visits between the Iranian and Syrian scholars, Khamenei stressed the need for promoting the spirit of resistance of the Syrian people.
Assad, for his part, thanked Iran for its consistent supports to his country.
The current achievements of the two countries have been attained through standing alongside the resistance movement, he said.
