SAMAJ WEEKLY UK
The Indian Workers Association (G.B.) wholeheartedly welcomes the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and urges both countries to come together and maintain peace through negotiation and de-escalation, as it is in the interest of everyone.
The Indian military conducted strikes inside Pakistan on 7 May in what it said was retaliation for the 22 April attack in Pahalgam that targeted the only Hindu and killed 26 people, who were Hindu tourists.
Both nuclear-armed neighbours exchanged artillery shells, gunfire, missiles, and drones, killing innocent people on both sides and raising concerns of a wider war.
Sital Singh Gill, General Secretary, Indian Workers Association (G.B.) appeals to the global community to be vigilant of misinformation via some media channels that divides people on a religious basis, spreading communal hatred.
Mr Gill also thanks all the peace-loving people and organisations of the world community who continually raise their voices against war. We will continue to build a broader and stronger alliance with them.
