Happy B day present from Anya Soni to her Grandpa

(Samaj Weekly)- Here is how a little Abacus maths whiz has shown her gratitude to her Grandpa on his b day. How Grandfather encouraged and motivated Anya to complete her last level of the Abacus Supermaths.

This is Anya Soni, I am 9 years old and I am in Level 11 of Abacus. Today, on my Grandfather’s b day, I would like to thank my Grandfather for all his efforts to bring my interest back for my favourite subject.

Abacus Supermaths has been one of my favourite Classes. It helped me with my studies and concentration. I am one of the first to answer math sums in my class at school.

However during lockdown with remote learning I started losing interest in Abacus classes. I missed classroom interaction, especially doing sums with friends. It was competitive and interesting.

At one point I even thought about quitting abacus. My parents and Dr Rashmi were concerned as I was in the last level and had put in years of effort to reach this far. This will all go in vain if I would leave at this point. Dr Rashmi, supermaths team and my parents guided and provided immense support to me and I started practicing Abacus again.

At the same time my grandfather came for holiday and spent time with us. He encouraged and motivated me a lot and I got my interest back in the Abacus he accompanied me during my homework. He raced against me on the calculator. The competition brought my interest back and I started enjoying abacus again. With regular practice, the number of mistakes reduced and I started getting good scores. My speed and accuracy improved.

I am hoping that I pass my last level with a good score and make everyone proud.
