Gunfight erupts in J&K

Srinagar,  A gunfight erupted on Friday between militants and the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.

Upon receiving a tip-off, the security forces began a search operation in Sekipora village.

“As the security forces closed in on the hiding militants, they fired triggering the ongoing gunfight,” the police said.

As a precautionary measure, authorities have suspended mobile internet services in Anantnag.
