New Delhi, A man-portable anti-tank guided missile (MPATGM) was successfully test-fired in Rajasthan desert on Thursday. The missile has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
According to a Defence Ministry statement, the indigenously developed, low-weight missile operates on a “fire and forget” principle, which means it does not require guidance after the launch.
“MPATGM is incorporated with advanced features, including state-of-the-art imaging infrared radar-seeker with integrated avionics,” the statement said.
The first test was conducted on March 13. In both the missions, the missiles hit the designated targets precisely at different ranges. All the mission objectives have been met.
