New Delhi, The air quality around the national capital and surrounding areas will be oscillating between “poor” and “very poor” for till Wednesday, SAFAR said.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the air quality which was severe earlier improved due to faster winds overnight.
“The air quality improved significantly…However, it will keep oscillating between poor and very poor for three days,” it said as it put the Air Quality Index (AQI) of about 11 regions in Delhi by 1 p.m. was 232 (poor) on a scale of 0 to 500.
PM2.5, or particles with diameter less than 2.5 mm, was the dominant polluting factor.
The average presence of PM2.5 in 35 areas in Delhi was 123 microgrammes per cubic meters and across over 40 areas in NCR was 125 units, which falls under ‘very poor’.
