Congress leader draws flak for remark against PM

New Delhi,  Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary courted controversy by making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and later claimed he was misunderstood because if his poor Hindi.

The leader said he had no intention to hurt the Prime Minister. “If PM is upset with it, I am sorry, ” he said.

He said the trigger for his remark that don’t compare Ganga with Gandi naali (drain) was in context of BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi drawing parallel with Swami Vivekananda and the Prime Minister.

The leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, Chowdhary said by “naali” he had meant “channel.”
