New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on Monday arrested former New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) Chief Engineer Yadav Singh in a case of awarding Rs 116 crore projects to private companies, officials said.
The CBI had registered in January 2018 the case alleging criminal conspiracy, misuse of official position and acceptance of bribes by Singh from the accused contractors and firms for awarding contracts.
The agency also named five private persons, unknown public servants and private persons in the case.
The CBI had registered the case on the Allahabad High Court orders in 2015.
In its FIR, the CBI alleged that the then Chief Maintenance Engineer (Singh) in conspiracy with other officers/officials of Noida as well as the said contractors had awarded several contracts worth Rs 116.39 crore to the five firms in gross violation of tender norms and procedures.
Singh is also being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the case.
