Bengal announces Rs 5 lakh for families of Pulwama victims from state

Kolkata,  The West Bengal government on Wednesday announced a Rs 5 lakh compensation each for the families of the two CRPF troopers hailing from the state who were killed in the Pulwama terror attack last week.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also promised a job to a member of each family if they so desire.

“Two jawans from our state, Bablu Santra, and Sudip Biswas were killed. We know it is nothing, but from our state government, to extend our solidarity, we have decided to give Rs 5 lakh to each family.

“And if they want service, we can provide one employment also to each of the two families,” Banerjee said at the state secretariat Nabanna.
