After resigning from AAP, Phoolka meets Cabinet Minister Vijay Goel

Senior lawyer HS Phoolka

New Delhi,   H.S. Phoolka, who resigned from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday, met BJP leader and Union Minister Vijay Goel at his residence here to greet him on his birthday.

Calling Phoolka a good friend and lauding his legal battle for the 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims, Goel told reporters: “He quit AAP recently. Better late than never.”

Phoolka met all media persons at Goel’s residence and said, “I want to thank you all for the support and fight that threw (Congress leader) Sajjan Kumar in prison. It was a long fight in the anti-sikh riots case.”

According to BJP sources, it was Phoolka’s second meeting with Goel in the recent days.

He had met Goel before resigning as AAP member also.

After resigning from AAP, Phoolka had announced that he will float a non-political organisation of social workers based out of Punjab.

Addressing the media here on Friday, Phoolka said after being in politics for five years, he felt the decision of converting the parallel movement started by social worker Anna Hazare into a political party was “not correct”.

He also said that the movement should have continued while people might have joined politics.

“It was a powerful movement. So much so that those in power were forced to listen to what the movement was demanding. No political party could have ignored what it was saying,” he had said.
