Starex university Organised a webinar on Awareness Program on Cyber Crime and Safety

Gurugram, (Samajweekly) School of Life sciences and School of Law  Starex university organized a webinar on Awareness Program on Cyber Crime and Safety. Dr. Rajendra Kumar Mishra, IPS, DGP, Madhya Pradesh was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He stated that, Internet has bought all world into one platform & become a new technology. But, with this advancement of technology, “Cyber crime is increasing day by day”, to combat cyber crime, we have to develop high security and strong law to provide justice for righteous person.“Good People use technology for betterment of their life and thief uses it in a bad way”, told Dr. Mishra.

He also stated that, “MP is the first state all over the globe having world class cyber security system with all the necessary facilities.”

“We should address our Non-Police Organization to build up separate cadre of cyber crime and trained them in computer and cyber law”, said Dr Mishra.

“There is an urgent need to strengthen legal provisions so that the cyber law can act as a potent deterrent,” opined Professor M.M. Goel Vice-Chancellor Starex University Gurugam. He was welcoming the Chief Guest Dr Rajindra Kumar Mishra IPS, DGP Madhya Pradesh at Starex University in the 2nd webinar on the topic ‘Kinds of Cyber Crime’ .

The perpetrators of cybercrimes against women including the sexist ‘Bulli Bai’ app, ‘Sulli Deals’ app describing women as ‘deals of the day’ cannot be spared, told Prof. Goel.

We need zero-tolerance against cybercrimes of ‘Bulli Bai’ kind in which doctored pictures of women are uploaded on social media as the brainchild of perverted minded criminals, said Vice-Chancellor Goel.

It is sad to note that the cybercrimes against women were 1600 in 2019 in India and increased to 2300 cases in 2020 pertaining to the publication and transmission of sexually explicit material by the perverts which calls for the safety of women from such cyber crimes, told Prof. Goel.

There were more than 100 Attendees. The Convener of the webinar was Komal Yadav, HOD, Forensic Science.
