4.7 magnitude earthquake shakes Alwar, neighbouring areas

Moderate quake shakes Assam

New Delhi, (Samajweekly) An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Alwar district of Rajasthan on Friday evening. Tremors were also felt in Delhi and other adjoining regions.

The earthquake, which occurred at 7 p.m., was at a depth of 35 km from the surface.

No casualties or damage to properties have been reported so far.
