(Samaj Weekly)- The Tamil Buddhists of Indonesia in collaboration with Tamil Buddhist Council of India invited Mr. Gauthama Prabhu Nagappan of the Triratna Buddhist Community to pay a visit to Vihara Widya Loka located in Medan, Northern Sumatra, Indonesia on the Saturday of 18th November 2023. He was received by the esteemed members of the Vihara such as the Chairman Mrs. Evieta, Mrs.Sunita, Mrs.Diva, Mr. Dewadasen, Mr. Goindasamy, Mr. Jayaram, Mr. Wasudewen, and Mr. Bhadrapala. The program started with the brief introduction by the Chairman Mrs. Evieta about Mr. Gauthama Prabhu who works for the revival of Buddhist movement in South India under Triratna Boudha Mahasangha. The full pali puja was performed by Mr. Gauthama Prabhu followed with Dhamma talk for an hour.

The Dhamma talk was about Abhivadan covering the aspects of Why we need a Buddhist statue, why do we prostrate, and why do we greet the Buddha with NAMO TASSA BHAGAVATO ARAHATO SAMMMASAM BUDDHASSA. The active participation from the people was exceptional and the question and answer sessions was very much motivating and genuine. It is a great honour to introduce Triratna Boudha Mahasangha to Medan particularly about the teachings as taught by Ven. Urgyen Sangharakshita. We express our special thanks to Mr. Vasudevan and Mr. Bhaskaran to introduce me and also coordinate the whole event.
