(Samaj Weekly)- It was on the deadly midnight of 22.01.1999, Graham Staines and his two minor sons- 10 year old Philip and 6 year old Timothy, who were sleeping in a station wagon at Manoharpur village in Mayurbhanj District of Orissa, were set on fire and all the three were charred to death by the brutal Bajrang Dal mob led by Dhara Singh. The crime of Graham Staines was nothing but a noble cause of caressing and healing the leprosy patients and giving them a new lease of life. This humane act enraged the fanatic and fascist Bajrang Dal which, with its utter non-sense and blind hatred, felt that the Missionary was engaged in religious conversion activities. The rogue elements in the organization had no humanity in them either to extend their helping hands to the impoverished downtrodden people or to remain harmless, atleast. The rogues Dhara Singh and 17 accomplices who committed this cold-blooded murder were circumambulating the burning vehicle senselessly shamelessly and unconscientiously chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on that ignominious day! Is it the act of Ram, their God desirous of?
Stone-hearted fellows were circumambulating the burning wagon and the three precious and noble lives charred to death! Sadism to the core!
Today, that is, 22.01.2024, exactly the 25th year of gory murder of Graham Staines and his sons, Modi regime has chosen the consecration of Ram Temple chanting the same ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Is it a mere coincidence? Not at all. With the dirtiest and cruelest track record of the forces in the Bajrang Dal, RSS-BJP combine, we cannot brush it aside as a coincidence! They are brutes to the core and they are all calculative in deciding time, date, etc.for this Pran Pranishta, that is, consecration! It is a conspiratorially well-planned event of the devilish minds to recall the chilling killing of Graham Staines and his children. In other words, it can surely be construed as a reminder and warning to the SCs, STs and Minorities, “Beware of us, the heartless majoritarians” And we, the Bahujans including some backward classes who are not fanatic Hindus must beware of the Sanatanic and Fascist Majoritarians ruling and ruining the country and we should show and prove our might in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in May,2024 and drive away the evil forces to save our country. It should be proved to be a Second War of Independence to free India from the yoke of the Fanatics and Fascists! Let us all remember the power of “ONE MAN ONE VOTE, ONE VOTE ONE VALUE” as guaranteed in the Constitution piloted by our Saviour Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar to save ourselves, all the silent but good people and our country.
The whole world should beware of the rogue and fascist elements. If a person remains silent when a dastardly crime is committed, he becomes an accessory or accomplice or abettor and thus becomes a shameful creature of the world! As Napoleon Bonaparte rightly said, “The world suffers a lot not because of the violence of bad people but because of the silence of good people” In the whole world the bad people are numerically low but because of their united aggression and callous system rotting the Executuve and Judiciary, they appear to be high in number while the good people who can always outnumber and outbeat the bad people, are not only silent but also spinelessly hiding themselves thinking and hoping that someone would bell the cat! This curse turns into a boon for the fascist elements. Let us realize this truth, live for truth and crush the untruth!
Buddha said, “Truly, hatred never ceases through hatred in this world; through love alone it ceases. This is ancient law.” But we should change our mindset to beat the fascists with their own coin, viz., to shun the fascists as unfit to live in the world and accordingly deal them with hatred and iron-hand in a democratic manner- aggressively with our ballots or else the humanity will not survive.
It is also appropriate to quote what Dr.Ambedkar summarized his thoughts on Buddhism: “(1) The society must have either the sanction of law or the sanction of morality to hold it together. Without either the society is sure to go to pieces. (2) Religion, if it is to function, must be in accord with reason which is another name for science. (3) It is not enough for religion to consist of a moral code, but its moral code must recognize the fundamental tenets of liberty, equality and fraternity. (4) Religion must not sanctify or ennoble poverty.” What we witness today is NO SANCTION OF LAW OR MORALITY, Hindu religion with NO REASON OR SCIENTIFIC TEMPER, NEGATION of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity and the Hindu religion SANCTIFYING POVERTY. If so, why should the masses suffering under the yoke of oppression of the fascists remain silent? Watching the violence let loose by the thugs, uncontrolled but patronized by the State is an act of cowardice on the part of the good people. It is high time the good people woke up and revolted against the fanatic fascists and save the country. As Buddha said, we have distinguish between the “will to kill” and “need to kill”. Farmers uproot the weeds for comfortable and prosperous growth of the crops, lest the crops will not grow well to give the desired yield and this view is applicable to the society which needs to be saved from the thugs. It is neither a sin nor a grave crime to kill a rapist in order to save the helpless woman and her dignity. Our country has been witnessing numerous brutal and hatred killings for the last one decade more than ever before and the good people are no longer required to be good, if they don’t want to be labeled as bad people! “Actions speak louder than words”. Let us not resort to bullets but the most powerful ballot in an appropriate manner and this is how we can uproot the weeds from among the crops in the political lands!
Jai Bhim! Jai Buddham! Jai India!
