This Wakari tournament was inaugurated by 1982 Asian Games Hockey gold medalist, Olympian Sharanjeet Kaur and Mrs. Doctor Sukhchen Gogi, wife of late MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi. The guests who came on this occasion where the Masters Hockey players praised the efforts of the Punjab girls’ hockey fair, they said that this effort is an inspiration for the children. On this occasion, the tournament was inaugurated by flying Gawar and the guests who came with the opening teams of the tournament were introduced. Sarpanch Sandip Singh, Tejinder Singh Jarkhar , Manager Gurstinder Singh Pargat, Paramjit Singh Pamma Grewal, Arvinder Kaur Roji Smt Sonia, Baljit Kaur Amandeep Kaur Sidhu Faridkot, and other managers and players were present in large numbers as Kang XI defeated Himachal Pradesh by 5-2.
