New Delhi,  India’s Ambassador to the US, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, was on Monday appointed the new Foreign Secretary.

A 1984 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, Shringla will succeed Vijay Gokhale, whose two-year term in the post ends in January 2020.
