Big stride in Punjab’s transport sector under Mann Government’s leadership, order placed for 696 new buses: Chairman Satnam Jalalpur

Nawanshahr,    (Samajweekly)   (Jatinderpal Singh Kaler): A historic step has been taken by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to bring improvements to the state’s transport sector. Providing information in this regard, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Chairman of the District Planning Board Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) Satnam Jalalpur stated that for the first time in about 20 years, a huge order for the purchase of 696 new buses has been placed by the Punjab government, which will lead to a major enhancement in transportation facilities for the common people. Chairman Satnam Jalalpur said that under this historic decision, an addition of 309 new buses will be made to the fleet of PRTC (PEPSU Road Transport Corporation), whereas 387 new buses will be included in the Punjab Roadways fleet. He further added that with this pro-people decision of the government, the total number of government buses in the state will increase from 2,267 to 3,546. Chairman Jalalpur stated that the Mann government is fully committed to providing facilities to every section of Punjab and strengthening the transport infrastructure, and the general public will get significant relief during their commute once these new buses hit the roads.
